Part of my Guiding Lights series, this painting captures the quiet strength of the Bodie Island Lighthouse standing watch over the Outer Banks. I was drawn to the contrast of its bold stripes against the wide coastal sky and the feeling of calm direction it gives to anyone looking out over the water. Lighthouses have always felt symbolic to me—steady, hopeful, and guiding you home even when the path feels uncertain. This piece is about that quiet reassurance and the beauty of the coast that inspires so much of my work.
